I saw a bit of a tin foily video that theorized that he did no work on winds of winter during the entire run of game of thrones. The idea is when the last book came out, they had to cut a lot from it, something like 200 pages and he said had another 200 rough pages, this is about a quarter of winds he already had done when they published the George R. R. Martin is a 70-year-old man who has taken 7 years to write Winds of Winter and he isn't finished. He has another book to write after that. What if he writes slower at the age of 75 than he did at the age of 65? What if he wants to write something else, which he's totally entitled to do? Bruh I wan in my first year of Uni when the book came out. Now I'm married with a 4 y/o. That's how long it's been. I've pretty much lost hope that I'll ever read winds of winter. At this point I'm not even sure I want to. He has quite some unhealthy habits and he’s not a woman - men only have a life expectancy of 74,5 years in US (women 80,2 years). I personally don’t think he will finish more than maybe one more book in this statistically 1,5 years. I dont know how he can even finish the story in two books either. I love george rr martin but honestly some people think every single little thing he includes is a masterpiece worth analysing and that if he mentions a woman eating an apple in book one then it's going to turn out she's the most important character in the entire series 5 books later and its going to be foreshadowed every other page like no it Yeah, his estimation of 75% wasn't reassuring at all.
