Wiring and connection problems can cause the ECU to malfunction, resulting in a range of engine problems including misfiring, stalling, and reduced power. Like any computer system, the ECU is subject to glitches and bugs that can cause it to malfunction or fail completely. We generally recommend that you have your Ford Focus ECU repaired or
I bought Ford Focus Mk2 1.6 TDCI 109PS 2009y car. It runs into limp mode very often and 2 failure codes are thrown: P2002, P0299. I tried to run static DPF regeneration, but it didn't help. I started to read related topics and found out that my DPF differential pressure sensor is disconnected from ECU as can be seen on the photo below.
MAFs are quite delicate, they're easily broken by cleaning if you're a bit heavy handed but you're welcome to try it. I'd recommend replacement if it's definitely not reading rightbut I was lucky and found a genuine new one on eBay for £30 for mine lol. Don't bother with aftermarket MAFs, they never work properly.

Focus TDCi 115. Just taken our car to an alternative dealer (OMC Ford, Oldham). The car had an ECU update and now the accelerator is easier to judge and the overall drive is much smoother. OMC said as soon as they plugged the diagnostic equipment into the car, "urgent update required" showed on the screen.

(2008 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI) I've noticed (using forscan) that the dpf is regenerating approx every 100 miles. This seems very excessive especially considering the differential dpf pressure is well within the acceptable range when these regens are kicking off.
Hey Adam, months back when I got my mk6.5 fiesta zetec s 1.6 TDCi it was left on the driveway for 2 months and was driven in and out the garage until my insurance renewal came up for my previous car. At one point the engine light came on and the code was to do with the Egr. Try deleting the code with the diagnostic tool as I deleted the code
1)Disconnect battery Negative terminal. 2) Let car sit for 1hour to discharge all. 3) reconnect Terminals 4) Start car allow to idle for 10 - 15 min without touching accelerator 5) Take for a drive and drive the way I normally do 6) Continue my normal driving style throughout the week/Month and see if there is any kind of difference at all.
Ford Model: Focus Mk 3.5 1l EB 125. Ford Year: 2016. UK/Ireland Location: Other/NonUK. Posted October 3, 2015. Flashing via OBD is fine, I did some research on it after our last chat and the only issues are around cloned devices, if you think about it that kinda makes sense, ford VCM II can do anything via the OBD.
