I don't drive the jeep much-- only put 12,000 miles on it in 7 years. Every year I have this problem when I'm ready to drive it in the summer. The first step in fixing only one windshield wiper working in the Mazda BT-50 is to check the pivot nut. A pivot nut keeps each wiper arm connected to its respective wiper transmission stem. They’re big (usually 15mm+). A loose wiper pivot nut can keep a wiper blade from moving if it has worked itself loose. Verify the nut is still tight. Two trucks I purchased new. 93 and 94 Silverado. Same problem with windshield wiper as described in other reports. I found my problem to be a combination of bad (loose connection) at the plug on the wiring harness that plugs into the wiper motor housing as well as bad solder connections inside the motor housing from the female plug to the wiper motor control board. Pull the lever toward you and hold it to spray washer fluid. If the windshield washer is turned on when the windshield wipers are not operating, the windshield wipers operate a few times. If the washer does not work, inspect the fluid level (Search). If the fluid level is normal, consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer. The models with rain sensing wipers (all GT's) do not really have an intermittent setting. They have the "auto" setting then a lo and hi setting. Only models that don't have rain sensing wipers have an int position. You do need the sensor on the top of the windshield that you were describing for this feature to work. The Intermittent Setting Doesn’t Work. When the intermittent wiper relay fails, the windshield wipers won’t work when the windshield wiper switch is set to intermittent. When this issue is present, the windshield wipers can only work on high or low settings. Note, however, that on platforms with multiple wiper system relays, symptoms may vary. My front wipers suddenly have the following behavior: - Auto and Intermittent settings do nothing. - Pressing up to the single wipe "mist" cycle will start a cycle but stops in the middle or anywhere if I stop holding it up. - Low and High speeds work, but similar to the mist cycle, will stop right where they are when they are turned off rather SKU # 280478.
